I don’t often pay money for iPhone apps, but when a friend recommended TiltShift Generator, I figured the ¥115 was worth it to turn my phone into an awesome toy camera.
Tilt-shift images are all the rage nowadays for the cool “miniature” photos they produce, although such lenses can be used for a variety of subjects, like portraits and architecture. The iPhone-version of a tilt shift lens produces some really interesting shots, but it’s often difficult to find a good angle with enough distance between the phone and the foreground to create the famous faux miniatures.

One big issue for me, which is inherent with the iPhone, is that editing on a screen so small often leads to kind of disappointing results when viewed at full-sized. Kind of a bummer when you thought you took created a freaky little masterpiece, only to find the focus wasn’t in the most effective place and the noise in the image is overwhelming.

Nice little toy, though!
